Find a sense of support and renewal

TAP TO
EXPAND

Friendly and diverse, there’s an easy air of camaraderie among the residents. You’ll find them in the dining room, relaxing by the pool, or in the dog park. Seeking the restorative energy of the San Diego climate, they’ve brought their great histories with them and some have started afresh.

Happenings & Highlights

  • The Will to Win!

Our residents enjoy lots of healthy competition - whether it be games of wit and chance such as bridge, poker, cribbage, mah jong, dominoes and bingo – or tests of skill such as putting, Wii Bowling, bocce, shuffleboard and corn hole. And for those who are up for the challenge, you can test your endurance as a member of our Cybercycle team the Wesley Wheelers.

  • The Wesley Club

This resident organization, representing all residents in the Wesley Palms community, features our resident-run committees and welcomes all. From running the Wesley Palms library, to the food committee, to weekly meetings between the club President and Executive Director, there is something for everyone.

  • Share your Talents

Our residents enjoy offering their time and talents to our community in a variety of ways, including running our monthly newsletter “The Breezes,” our second-hand store “The What-Not Shop,” our gift shop, “The Palm Tree Store,” as well as leading games and groups for our Summer House residents.

  • Spiritual Expression

We host guided meditation, weekly Shabbat service, bring in speakers and faith leaders from many traditions and denominations, and offer Bible study, world religion classes, and more.

  • Out on the Town

We frequent the finest entertainment venues San Diego has to offer with season tickets to Broadway San Diego, the San Diego Opera, the Lambs Player’s Theatre, as well as attending many delightful concerts at Copley Symphony Hall, Spreckel’s Organ Pavilion, Summer Pop at the Embarcadero, Humphrey’s by the Bay and much more.

  • Putting Contest

Get in the competitive spirit by participating in our putting contest. Friday mornings residents meet at our putting green to see who can get a hole in one! Winners take home all the glory and a candy bar. Scores are maintained throughout the year for an annual winner!

Together.

A powerful sense of camaraderie fills our neighborhood. Residents love to engage with one another—creating new opportunities to share passions and discoveries. Whether it’s over a yoga class in the courtyard or a discussion in the resident-run library, the people who call Wesley Palms home are always finding new ways to connect and thrive.

For residents, by residents

Our communities are full of passionate people. To celebrate that, we started Shine!, a life enrichment program. It’s all about getting in touch with the passions and unique skills of the individuals who make up our communities and giving everyone the space to be a teacher … and a student. Through this program, we invite everyone to tell us what is important and interesting to them, and then we make those experiences happen.

Volunteer

Help run the Newcomers Committee or bring your expertise to event planning or care giving. Whatever your specialty or passion is, your assistance is greatly appreciated. Having residents and locals as volunteers is the best way to get people engaged and ensure that Wesley Palms stays true to the people who live here.

Thanks to generous donors and supporters, the Front Porch Communities Foundation (FPCF), a 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization, helps older people flourish. Gifts to the FPCF assist residents who outlive their resources and support community improvements that enhance the quality of life. Employees also benefit through donations to the HEART Fund and Scholarship Funds. Your charitable donations through FPCF are tax-deductible as allowed by the IRS.

FPCF works with each Front Porch community, its executive director, and residents to raise funds that benefit your community.
